Pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade meet on Sunday mornings from 9:10 to 10:20 a.m. in the Education Center, in the lower level of the church. The age requirement for Pre-K CCD is age 4 by August 1st.

First Day of Elementary CCD: Sunday, August 22, 2010
All parents and students are to attend a CCD Orientation Meeting on Sunday August 22nd in Hardebeck Hall.

Sacramental Policy: Before a child receives any of the sacraments (Reconciliation, First Communion or Confirmation), he or she must attend religious education class the year prior to the sacramental program. This is very important to ensure that children are well prepared and eligible to receive the sacraments. New parishioners will need to provide attendance records for the CCD program they attended prior to coming to Blessed Sacrament. Weekly Mass attendance is also required.  If your child does not meet these requirements, please call the Religious Education Office at 463-5733 by August 9th before acceptance into a sacramental program is granted.

Babysitting is held in the Guardian Angels Nursery on the main floor during the 8:00 and 10:30 Masses when CCD is in session. Please feel free to utilize this service for your children who are 5 years of age and under.

*Interested in helping out with CCD or Nursery? If you feel the desire to teach, assist, or substitute for CCD of any age, or you’re interested in helping out in the Nursery every once in a while, please call for requirements and more information.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR ELEMENTARY CHILDREN

Youth Greeters For children in grades Pre-K through 5. We welcome people to mass with a handshake, a smile, and a nice word or two. Greeters work the second weekend of every month during the CCD year, arrive at least 15 minutes early to their mass, sign in and put on their nametag. New greeters should attend Youth Greeter training—date TBA.

Altar Servers For children at least 9 years of age or in the 4th grade who have received their First Communion, and who are willing to cooperate, accept responsibility, and follow directions well.
